Welcome to Wyoming! The Wyoming Outfitters and Guides Association are here to help you plan a great outdoor vacation in the vast, unspoiled wilds of the Rocky Mountain West. WYOGA members guide hunters, fly fishers, snowmobilers, trail riders, rock climbers, river floaters and a myriad of other outdoor enthusiasts. WYOGA members have obligated themselves to promote conservation of wild lands, fish and wildlife and to provide the public with high quality facilities and professional services to enjoy these resources.
The mission of the Board, in order to serve and protect the public and maintain quality and professionalism within the hunting outfitting industry in Wyoming, is to license, regulate, review and evaluate big and trophy game outfitters and guides and enforce applicable laws, rules and regulations related to the outfitting industry.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has roots all the way back to the 1890's. This period in our history marks a major decline in the population of wild game in the state of Wyoming due to unlimited harvesting practices used by settlers. During that decade, the positions of State Fish Warden (1890) and State Game Warden (1899) were established to protect Wyoming's wildlife from dangers of over harvesting. These positions were dedicated to the replenishment of the wildlife in the area.
